falcon
Wanting to drink something hearty and robust on this wet and cold weekend here in Toronto, I went to the store this morning with Sangiovese in mind, perhaps a Montepulciano or a Chianti. While mulling over the quite pricey choices at the LCBO by St. Lawrence market, I spot this bottle from Puglia at $23 and thought this might do.
Mostly Uva di Troia, this was definitely rustic, with good structure. And with moderate acidity, this was enjoyable on its own. It mellowed a bit after opened for 1+ hour, but like most decent full body european wines on the LCBO shelves, this would get better with a few more years in the bottle.
