the thing that I was afraid of when I decided to work for a company instead of continuing in the academic struggle was that I would not be doing things that have a purpose.

I don't think that exactly been the case yet, but I can start to feel it. I am still doing research, however, I feel a little more detached from the research. don't get me wrong, I am as busy as ever, doing a lot of work, but it is exactly that, work. There hasn't been a lot of positive reinforcement as of late, to let me know that I am doing the right thing. plus the canadian dollar is in the shit hole, that makes it even less fun.

listening to part of the debate last night, this palin woman is truly truly scary. The reason why she is scary is that people actually might vote for her. Have we seen this before? A Governor who is unqualified to run her own household is running for higher office, and people actually considering voting for this person because they feel they can 'identify' with her (him).
scary, we should care about if this person is qualify for the job, not about if she sounds like someone you might run into at your local walmart.
