my favorite baseball player, who I have been watching since I moved to washington state in 1994, Ken Griffey junior, got traded to the white sox from the reds today.
he is 38, been hurt a lot in the last few years, his career is winding down for sure, but from what I have seen this year, playing the right field for the reds, he has been doing okay, not an elite player, but still better than tons of outfielder in MLB.
I made the mistake of reading what some sports journalist said about the trade, man, they are just beating up on him, about how he can't move anymore, his bat is slow, how he will get hurt again if they put him in center field, bluh bluh bluh,
does anyone remember that he is the best player from the 90's that has not been linked to steroid, and the key is, he can still play, playing better than a lot of other major league players; shit load of players are washed up at younger age without accomplishing anything, they don't get beat up like this; lets see these fuckers so call sports writers go catch some fly balls in the center field, try to hit one fucking homerun, not to mention 608 of them.

lady, you suck
this just about sent me through the roof, I was in a small liquor store by the farmers market earlier today, and this lady was pushing around this thing with wheels as big as bike wheels, it barely fit down the isle. the really fucking crazy thing about it, was that there wasn't even a kid in it. and it wasn't like the kid was walking behind her, there was just simply no kid anywhere. you got to be fucking kidding me.
if I am ever unfortunate (or fortunate) enough to own my own business, you bet your fucking money no stroller will be allowed on premesis.

wear caps, boys and girls
there is a pool in my building, I have been swimming there a few times a week since I moved in, I have been enjoying it.
what bums me out about it is the hair balls I see at the bottom of the pool or floating around. they came from people swimming in there without swim caps.
am I the only one who see it? just 20 minutes ago, I shared the pool with three people, all women I think, I am not sure, since I am not wearing my glasses (I can still see the hair balls). Two of these people have hair down to their shoulder, not wearing swim caps.
this is a shared exercise pool, not a fucking bath tub.

it is hot up in this piece
I hear people complain about it being a little too hot in toronto in the summer, and yes, we are kind of getting there, it is really quite humid with temperature in low 30s (they do celsius up here, canada is not quite just another state of u.s.a.). but compare to the summers I spend in houston, this is not quite that bad. I can sleep at night without air condition here, that was definitely not the case in texas.

canada day
for like a week and half, I was wondering why there is a boat park out there some distance from the shore, just sitting there, not moving.
then around 10pm last night, my question was answered, they were launching fireworks from this boat, celebrating something called 'canada day', I guess it is similar to 4th of july kind of shit.
although i didn't have to leave my place to see it, it was pretty weak stuff, I remember watching the fireworks at gasworks park in seattle was much more impressive, but then again, I was sober last night when this was going on, I definitely wasn't back then ...
